  • Volunteers

    As a parent you will be expected to be present at the waterfront all all times, you will also need to sign on next to your child/children on the signing on sheet to confirm your presence or your child/children will be disqualified. Mersea Cadet Week could not happen without the help and support of ALL the parents of those who sail and other volunteers. The families of all participants are required to assist in some way and in order for your child/chilren to be offered a place you MUST volunteer for EVERY SESSION, please complete sections below:

  • 1. By submitting this entry form, parents/guardians confirm that they have read and understood the Rules and Responsibilities associated with this event, these can be found on the Cadet Week website at https://cadetweek.co.uk/cadet-week-2021/notice-of-race, and accept that: they are responsible for themselves, their child, their child’s crew and boat; that a parent/guardian will be present at the waterfront at all times, unless they are on the water helping, in which case have advised an organiser when signing on; that their child is fit and capable of taking part in all the activities associated with the event; and that, in the event of any illness or accident, any necessary medical treatment may be administered. 2. Nothing done by the organisers (i.e. West Mersea Yacht Club, Dabchicks Sailing Club, Mersea Cadet Week Committee, Race Management Teams, Safety/Support Boat Crews and anyone helping to run the event) will relieve participants of their responsibilities. 3. By launching (or putting to sea) participants imply the suitability of their boat and the competence of the helm and crew for the expected or forecast conditions. 4. Photographs will be taken during Mersea Cadet Week organised events, stored and reproduced for the purpose of promotion and publicity, for use on the appropriate websites and for distribution to the event participants. Any entrants or their parents/guardians who have any concerns or objections should write to the organising committee. 5. You give permission for the Cadet Week committee to hold and process personal information to the extent required for the effective organisation of the event.
